Supplies Week - A Christmas Countdown

This week is Supplies Week. With the lists you made last week, next we will inventory the non-perishable supplies we need for crafting, baking, wrapping, and decorating.

Last week was crazy busy around our house. It is a relief to look at this next week and see nothing much planned.

But last week was successful in finishing up a number of projects, such as cleaning up the flower beds and making applesauce. I'm excited to do some fall projects now - such as organizing the children's winter clothing and sewing.

Here are some links for this week.

Prepare - Supplies Week  - read last year's post for inspiration

What are your goals for the week? Does fall find you enjoying the last day's outdoors or indoor projects?

  1. One of my major goals for this week I to can the last of my pasta sauce and then give the kitchen a good cleaning after all the canning and dehydrating for the winter and early spring. I also need to finish covering our raised beds, feed and wrap the fruit trees. By the end of the week I hope to start working on a few Christmas items for family baskets.

On another note I ran across an interesting quit idea that I thought that you might be interested in exploring. The site provides instructions for creating a growth chart that can be updated and then given to a child when they reach adulthood or saved by the parents. The project can be found at http://thelongthread.com/?p=7952

  2. I am in the same club..the" clean the kitchen after canning club" ! I am still planning on canning some potatoes soon, but then I think it's done(unless we get some venison). I am sorting out some Christmas sewing projects that I hope to start sooner than later. We are having a fall party for our grandkids on Friday evening,so I have to prepare some treats for that. The only other big plan is to get a turkey for Thanksgiving. My oldest son and I have a tradition of cooking it in my wood cookstove. It is fun,but it also makes me thankful that I don't have to do that everyday!!

  4. Thank you for this idea! I made a list a couple weeks ago when I saw your first post and last night went out and purchased most of our needed Christmas gifts, food and craft supplies. I am excited to enjoy this year more then last - it is never fun taking the long drive to town during the cold weather with young kids because I have forgotten something! It is also nice to have a list of certain crafts and goodies that we will accomplish instead of searching online at the last minute. What a great idea :)
