Sisters' April Reading Challenge

I really enjoyed the March challenges. Five challenges (three books and two activies) was just about right for me. I hope you join my sister Charity and I for the April Reading Challenges. We'll give some examples, but you can choose whatever books you want to fit these categories.

This post contains affiliate links.

1. Since April is poetry month, read from a book of poetry.

    Examples: A.A. Milne, Emily Dickinson

2. Read a biography or autobiography.

Examples: A Chance to Die: The Life and Legacy of Amy Carmichael by Elisabeth Elliot

    Truman by David McCullough

3. Read a fairy tale or a retelling of a fairy tale.

    Examples: Beauty by Robin McKinley

Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine

4. Celebrate spring by reading in a park.

5. Share a poem with a friend by a card, email, text, or social media.

Have fun with these reading challenges!

  4. I can't thank Charity enough for calling my attention to the book "Keep a Quiet Heart" in your last post. I had read it years ago, but pulled it off the shelf again, and it is exactly what I need right now! Thank you!

  5. Hi Gina, I hope that this question does not cause you any pain or sadness but a friend of mine from the church I was attending until recently has just learned that her husband has a very nasty, aggressive form of leukemia. She is expecting their seventh child, and she is only 32 years old, he is 34. People who are still local to the churchAre bringing meals and helping with childcare and that kind of thing, but we now live 900 miles away. Is there anything that someone from a distance did for you and your family That especially helped when you were going through dealing with Ed’s condition? Thanks so much.

    1. I'm so sorry. That is so hard.

I had several friends who lived many miles away who sent frequent cards with words of encouragement, Scripture, and the reminder that they were praying. That was very meaningful to me.
