Will You Pray?

I want to post one of the book lists that are in my draft file. Or a new recipe I've tried. Anything to distract myself and pretend that all is smiles and springtime fun at our house.

But it is not.

For the last several weeks Ed has been having severe headaches. At first he could keep it controlled with pain meds but now it is causing nausea and an inability to focus.

Today he is getting blood work and a CAT scan. Will you pray that we can find some answers that will help Ed find relief from these headaches?

And please pray for our family. I never guessed it would be so hard to have your husband ill.

But we do have wonderful support from our family, friends, and church.

And, of course, God. How can anyone face hard things in life without Him?

  12. God is faithful! Of course we'll pray for Ed and for you and the children too. I base my prayer on 1 Peter 2:24 - we're so focused on the first part of this verse that we forget that Jesus also suffered for our healing.

    God bless your whole family!

  14. Have they done bloodwork for Lyme's (both dormant and active)? And now prayer: Lord, we come before you as you are our healer and right now Ed needs healing. We pray that you provide him with relief and with answers, miraculous or through your servant-doctors. I pray for wisdom and guidance as they work to figure out what is causing Ed's pain and work to dissolve it. We pray for Gina, as a wife it's so hard to see your strong husband so sick and we pray you'd give her your strength, your energy, your peace, and your clear-headedness as she juggles many things right now. Be over this situation in a powerful way. Thank you for giving the Author of our lives and I pray your writing is so evident over all these unknowns. In the healing name of Jesus we pray.

  32. Gina, I will pray. I understand some of the stress as my mother was found to have a brain tumor six weeks ago and we are walking the complicated path of surgery recovery. There is grace, you are right, though some days it is hard to look clearly for it.

  45. Hi Gina. I'm so very sorry to hear about the issue with Ed. But you are right when you say God's Grace is sufficient enough for this. May I add to what you said, and say Gods power is made perfect in weakness. Paul, with his ailments, then says: " Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." That is in 2 Cor 12. Rest in Gods promises of comfort and cling to the light of eternity. Do you read Beside the Still Waters devotional? Today's is about focusing on Heaven and not the temporal. Sickness is fleeting... life is fleeting. But I am not suggesting Ed is terminally ill or anything - it may be a benign growth. We will certainly pray for him and your family. 🌷-Lauren
