The first corn picked from our garden.

Does summer get any better than this?

  1. Love, love, love this posting!!!! :-). I have a summer birthday and was born in Iowa, so one of my favorites is (sweet)corn on the cob. Pair that with such cute kidlets.. can't top that! Thanks for sharing!

  2. Looks yummy! Do you do anything special to your corn as it is growing to keep out the corn worms? This is my first year of growing corn. I have heard of putting mineral oil or pantyhose on the ears to keep them from getting inside. Also what variety of corn are you growing?

For some reason we never have much problem with corn worms. I'm not sure why - but I'm sure not complaining!

  4. Oh yum!! Your corn stalks look so green. Y'all must have lots of rain or else you water. I just pulled 6 whole ears off my 4 corn stalks this morning. Will have them for dinner. I love to see kids eating corn on the cob. So cute!

    1. Kris,
This year we planted our corn at a low spot that has very good soil. Not all of our garden looks this good!

  6. Fresh corn is my Grace's favorite. She is always excited when the corn comes in. It will be quite a while for us before our corn is ready but we are definitely looking forward to it. Enjoy your day and God bless.

  7. Darn, I was just patting myself on the back that our corn was "knee high by forth of July" and then I see you're already harvesting! :-)

    Cute, cute pictures!

  8. The corn looks so good. Wish my garden space was large enough to grow our own corn, someday. Such cute pictures!

  9. I just love fresh corn. Here in the UK our corn is often packed in plastic and sweats and gets really spoiled. I can just imagine how lovely it is to have it so fresh. xxx
