Sometimes, this home addition project appears to be endless. I have to admit to some complaining about the dirt, dust and slow progress.
Then I hear of yet another devastating tornado and wonder why I don't count myself extraordinarily blessed. It almost doesn't seem right to post about our home when others are suffering extreme lost of home and family.
But this is our past week in review.
It is so much fun to finally be able to check a few projects off the list this week. The chimney has consumed Ed's spare hours for weeks.
There was great rejoicing when the final brick was laid and the scaffolding came down. The only sad ones were the children when losing their monkey bars but maybe I won't die of heart failure at watching their antics.
The electricians came this week and we now have lights and a ceiling fan installed -just in time for the heat wave that hit this week.
On Saturday, Ed worked on little projects like sanding and sealing the walnut on the porch. I love how dark the wood is now.
Inside we stained the door to match.
Next week: brick work on the porch...
Your home is looking lovely...and I understand what you mean about slow progress but then counting your blessings instead! Our addition was built on by us 8 years ago....and the downstairs doesn't even have the drywall up yet! ;) Your addition seems to be moving quickly and looking just wonderful! :)

that door is especially lovely!
ReplyDeletechildren and monkeybars - my kids were climbing up aluminum stepladders the other week, propping the ladders precariously on a wall. eeeek! I'm laid back, but really. . .
The dark stain is so handsome!! And, I hope you are still happy with your wall color--just lovely!!
ReplyDeleteIt is all looking just beautiful, Gina! What great progress you have made! Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow!
ReplyDeleteAwesome chimney. Please write more... we all feel sad for those who lost much, but so excited for you too as you get the projects checked off. Yea!
ReplyDeleteLooks really nice.
I hope we'll be getting started soon on our home. Getting a little weary of camper-life.
Hope you have a wonderful day.
